SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Three members of The University of Scranton men's track & field team posted Top-20 finishes to lead the efforts for the Royals on Saturday at the Paul Kaiser Classic that was hosted by Shippensburg University.
Here are some of the Royals' highlights from the meet.
- Sophomore Christian Snee (Olyphant, Pa./Mid Valley) finished 12th in the 800 meters with a personal-best time of 1:57.28, while senior Daniel Finning (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) took 13th place in the 3,000 meters in a season-best time of 9:25.44.
- In the field events for the Royals, junior Angelo Catapano (Massapequa Park, N.Y./Massapequa) finished 20th in the hammer throw with a mark of 39.59m. The Massapequa Park, N.Y., native also added a 34th place finish in the shot put with a mark of 10.65m, surpassing his previous best of 10.58m that had been set at the Jim Taylor Invite on Mar. 24-25.
The Royals will return to the track next weekend for the Landmark Conference Championships that will be hosted by Moravian University beginning Saturday at 1 p.m. A full preview of the action will be posted later this week at athletics.scranton.edu.
