BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Three members of The University of Scranton men's track & field team posted top-five finishes on Day One of the Landmark Championships on Saturday at Moravian University in Bethlehem.
The Royals are sixth in the team standings with 17 points after day one as Susquehanna sits atop the standings with 67.
Here are some of the Royals' highlights from day one.
- Sophomore Tanner Updyke (Guilford, Conn./Guilford) finished fifth in the 10,000 meters with a time of 35:38.64 and classmate Liam Fahey (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) took sixth in 36:01.06.
- Fellow sophomore Christian Snee (Olyphant, Pa./Mid Valley) added a seventh place finish in the 1,500 meters as he crossed the line in a personal-best time of 4:03.94, nearly four seconds better than his previous best time.
- In the field events, freshman Philip Danchik (Woodbine, Md./Mount Saint Joseph) tied for fourth in the pole vault with a program-record mark of 3.70m and junior Kyle Muirhead (Massapequa, N.Y./St. Anthony's) took fifth in the long jump with a personal-best leap of 6.59m.
Action on Day Two of the 2023 Landmark Outdoor Track & Field Championships gets underway at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
