The University of Scranton women's basketball team opened up Landmark Conference play with a 70-point victory over Wilkes University Wednesday night in the John Long Center.

How it Happened
- In the first quarter, junior Kaeli Romanowski found graduate student Kyra Quigley in the short corner for a jumper to give the Royals a 4-0 lead.
- Quigley kicked the ball out to graduate student Maddie Hartnett, who ignited the Royals three-point clinic in the first quarter.
- Lamanna picked the pocket of Wilkes' Reagan Holden and took the ball the length of court to hit Romanowski for the fast break layup.
- Junior Kaci Kranson intercepted a Colonel pass with 5:34 remaining, finding Romanowski down court for a give-and-go layup to put the Royals ahead 18-2.
- In the second, Quigley drove to the hoop, finding Kranson underneath to increase the Royals lead to 32 points.
- On the next play, Kranson drove and hit Quigley who banked in the layup from the left block.
- Lamanna put the ball behind a Colonel defender's back to hit Bennett on the block for a layup to put the Royals ahead 52-13 with 3:25 left in the half.
- Graduate student Allie Lynch drained a pull-up jumper from the top of the key with just over a minute left on the clock.
- Sophomores Katie Gorski and Bennett each recorded blocks on Wilkes final two drives of half, and Gorski ended the quarter with a driving layup, giving increasing the Royals lead to 56-15 at the half.
- Lamanna opened the second half with a three-pointer from the left wing off a feed by sophomore Natalie Stoupakis.
- Freshman Marisa Francione hit two three-pointers in the third to increase the Royals lead 69-18.
- Senior Ashlyn Bender opened the fourth with her second three of the game, and classmate Morgan Brewer connected from beyond the arch the next Royals possession.
- With 3:35 remaining in the game, junior Jenna Sloan drained a three from the right corner as the shot clock expired.
- Freshman Sabrina Kraker ended the game with a lefthanded layup, breaking the 100 point threshold for the Royals with the final score 100-70.
Top Performers
- Kranson and Bennett each had 14 to lead all scorers.
- Romanowski added 12 and Quigley scored nine.
- Hartnett recorded six rebounds, followed by Quigley and Lamanna who each had five.
- Lamanna and Stoupakis tied for a game-high four assists.

- Scranton went 6-7 from three in the first quarter, draining 16 total on 59.4% shooting.
- The Royals out rebounded the Colonels 46-25.
