No. 2 Seed Lady Royals Set to Battle No. 3 Seed ETown in Thursday's Landmark Semifinals

Following a 67-58 victory over Elizabethtown on Saturday, The No. 2 seed University of Scranton women's basketball team is set to battle the No. 3 seed Blue Jays in Landmark Conference semifinal action on Thursday night at the John Long Center in Scranton. Opening tip is slated for 7 p.m.

Thursday's winner will advance to Saturday's championship game against the winner of the other semifinal between top-seeded Catholic and No. 4 seed Susquehanna.

Admission to Thursday's semifinal is $7 for adults 18+ and $4 for children ages 10-17. Children ages nine and under are admitted free of charge, as are all Landmark Conference students, faculty and staff with their school ID.

The Lady Royals secured the No. 2 seed with Saturday's victory over ETown behind 32 points on 13-of-18 shooting from sophomore Kaci Kranson (Scranton, Pa./Holy Cross) and 11 points and five boards from senior Maddie Hartnett (Chatham, N.J./Chatham).

ETown advanced to the semifinal with an 87-57 win over No. 6 seed Moravian in Tuesday's quarterfinal as Summer McNulty led five Blue Jays in double figures with 17 points.

This marks the third Landmark postseason meeting between the two schools including a 69-54 Scranton victory in the 2023 conference title game.

Scranton was ranked third and ETown seventh in the latest NCAA Region V rankings that were unveiled on Tuesday.

Kranson leads the conference in both scoring (16.4 ppg) and free throw percentage (80.9%) and sits third in field goal percentage at 45.2%. She also ranks seventh in rebounding at 7.1 rpg.

Sophomore Kaeli Romanowski (Lake Ariel, Pa./Western Wayne) leads the conference in steals (82) and steals per game (3.4), while she is second on the team in scoring at 9.8 ppg. Elsewhere for the Lady Royals, senior Maddy Ryan (Malvern, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) checks in at 9.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

The Lady Royals feature a balanced scoring attack that includes five players averaging six plus points a game including freshman Meghan Lamanna (New Providence, N.J./New Providence) at 8.4 ppg and Hartnett (6.5 ppg).

ETown is led by McNulty at 15.5 ppg and Cyleigh Wilson at 12.9 ppg. Wilson is also the top three-point shooter in the conference at 49.0%.
