Coming off a 57-48 victory at Catholic on Saturday to clinch the program's ninth straight Landmark Conference title, The University of Scranton women's basketball team (25-2) has been selected to host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament for a 10th straight year beginning on Friday evening at the John Long Center.
The Lady Royals will host Framingham State (24-2) in the second game of the night at 8:15 p.m. Friday's first game will feature Marymount (Va.) (22-5) taking on Ohio Northern (18-9) at 5:45 p.m.
The two winners will then meet on Saturday at 7:45 p.m. with a spot in the Sweet 16 on the line.
Ticket prices for the weekend are $15 for adults (18+), $10 for seniors 61 and over, students and children ages two and up.
Making the program's 36th NCAA Tournament appearance all-time, Scranton scored the first nine points of the game and led wire-to-wire in the victory. Senior Maddie Hartnett (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) earned Tournament MVP honors with a career-high 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting.
Framingham State is making the program's third appearance in the field of 64 in four years and the first since 2022 after defeating Bridgewater State 74-62 in Saturday's MASCAC title game.
The Saints defeated Neumann by a score of 66-48 in the Atlantic East Conference title game on Saturday and is making the 23rd NCAA Tournament appearance all-time. A season ago, Marymount fell to St. John Fisher in the opening round.
Ohio Northern (18-9) made a run through the OAC Tournament as the No. 4 seed and toppled No. 2 seed Marietta 63-55 in Saturday's title game to earn the program's second straight and 10th NCAA Tournament appearance.
