MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The University of Scranton softball team (9-3) split a pair of contests with Oswego (2-7) and Mississippi University for Women (11-7) as part of the team's final day in Myrtle Beach on Friday.
Scranton dropped a 10-8 decision to Oswego before notching a 1-0 win over the Owls.

Trailing 10-6 to start the seventh inning, the Royals put together a late rally before coming up just short in the 10-8 setback.
After junior Alyssa Mosconi (Oakland, N.J./Indian Hills) knocked in a run with an RBI single and an error allowed a second run to score that cut the deficit to 10-8, Scranton had runners at second and third with one away before Oswego got a popout and strikeout to end the game.
The Lakers had broken a six-all tie with three runs in the fifth and added an insurance run in the sixth that made it a 10-6 game for the time being.
Sophomore Soleil Dooner (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) was dealt the loss for Scranton after giving up six runs (three earned) on six hits to go along with a walk and four strikeouts over 2 2/3 IP of relief.
Chelsea Sellars recorded the win for Oswego as she allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits in 2 1/3 IP.
Scranton took an early lead with a two-run second that included freshman Ellyn Cervona's (Mine Hill, N.J./Dover) RBI single, but the Lakers responded with six in the third on the strength of Lillian Haggerty's two-run triple.
In a three-run fourth inning, sophomore Keira Corrigan (Rockville Centre, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) plated a run with an RBI single and junior Kylie Rochford (Tinton Falls, N.J./Red Bank Catholic) knocked in a pair with a two-run double that brought the Royals within a run at 6-5.
Senior Sarah Stepnowski (Monroe Twp., N.J./Monroe) reached on a one-out error in the sixth, took second on a groundout and scored the tying run when junior Madison DeStefano (Spring Brook Twp., Pa./North Pocono) came through with an RBI single.
DeStefano tallied three hits to lead the way for the Royals offensively, while Corrigan and senior Bailee Hendricks (Norristown, Pa./Norristown Area) added two hits apiece.

Freshman Juliana Janezic (Southington, Conn./Cheshire Academy) fired her second complete-game shutout of the season and the Royals notched a 1-0 win over Mississippi University for Women in the team's second game of the day.
The Southington, Conn., native scattered six hits and fanned three in her seven innings of work to improve to 4-0 on the season.
Scranton plated the lone run of the game in the second when freshman Alexa Bruno (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xaverian) led off with a triple and scored on classmate Lainey Lacey's (West Chester, Pa./Bayard Rustin) sac fly.
Jade Rushing gave up the one run on seven hits to go along with one strikeout in 6.0 IP and was charged with the loss for the Owls.
MUW had runners at first and second with one away in the fifth, but Janezic got a strikeout and a groundout to get out of the jam.
Bruno went 2-3 with a triple and a run scored in the game for Scranton.
The Royals will return home to host Utica University in a doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon at Magis Field with first pitch of game one slated for 3 p.m.
