SCRANTON, PA -- The University of Scranton women's basketball team earned a 77-55 victory over Catholic University in Landmark Conference action at the John Long Center on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
- With the game tied at 6-6 in first period, graduate student Maddie Hartnett hit back-to-back threes to give Scranton a 12-6 advantage.
- Sophomore Elizabeth Bennett then followed up with five straight points to put the Lady Royals up 17-6.
- Scranton closed out the opening quarter with a 17-8 lead.Â
- Catholic connected from deep to start the second period to cut Scranton's lead to six, but junior Kaeli Romanowski answered with a three of her own to give the Lady Royals a 20-11 lead.
- Scranton took its biggest lead of the contest with 2:11 remaining in the opening half as sophomore Meghan Lamanna drilled a three to increase Scranton's lead to 30-18.Â
- The Lady Royals led 32-23 at the end of the first half.Â
- Scranton opened up the second half with consecutive threes from Lamanna and junior Kaci Kranson followed by a layup from Hartnett to take a 40-23 lead at the 8:33 mark of the third period.
- The Cardinals cut Scranton's lead to 10 midway through the third quarter, but the Lady Royals responded with a 12-3 run to take a 53-35 advantage with 2:50 remaining in the third quarter.
- Scranton remained 18 points ahead of Catholic at the end of the third period.
- Catholic scored the first six points of the fourth period to cut the lead to 12, but Lamanna ended the run with a three to put Scranton back up 15 with 7:27 remaining in the contest.
- Hartnett hit a pair of threes late in the fourth quarter and the Lady Royals completed a commanding 77-55 victory against Catholic.
Top Performers
- Lamanna and Hartnett combined for nine of Scranton's 12 threes and scored 19 and 18 points respectively. Both were season highs.Â
- Kranson (13), Bennett (12), and Romanowski (10) all reached double figures in the win.

- The Lady Royals went 12-30 from three-point range and held Catholic to 4-14.
- Scranton out rebounded the Cardinals 40-31.
