Sharrow & Smith Post Strong Performances as Women's Track & Field Takes Fourth at Nazareth Challenge Cup

ROCHESTER, NY -- The University of Scranton women's track & field team placed fourth of ten teams with 57 points at the Nazareth Challenge Cup on Saturday. 

The Basics
  • SUNY Geneseo won the team title on the women's side at 224.5 points.
  • Scranton beat out fellow Landmark Conference competitor Susquehanna University who finished in eighth place. 
Top Performers
  • Sharrow won the long jump at 5.46m and placed fourth in the 60m at 7.96. 
  • Smith took third  in the 60m at 7.95. She also earned a sixth place finish in the 200m at 26.68. 
  • Junior Molly White finished in a tie for third in the high jump at 1.53m. 
  • Senior Samantha Hoffmann earned a fourth place finish in the mile at 5:16.32 and took seventh in the 800m at 2:23.90. 
  • Junior Emily Hopkins placed fourth in the 3,000m with a run of 10:29.92 while sophomore Callie Gorman finished sixth in the same event at 10:46.92. 
  • Freshman Danielle Kramer placed fifth in the triple jump at 10.56m.
Up Next
The women's track and field team will be back in action next weekend at the Bomber Invitational hosted by Ithaca College.
