PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's basketball team delivered an impressive road performance on Sunday afternoon, knocking off Division I Pittsburgh, 69–63, in an exhibition at the Petersen Events Center.

How It Happened

Scranton opened the afternoon with efficient ball movement and timely perimeter shooting, using threes from Sophia Talutto, Meghan Lamanna, and Elizabeth Bennett to take a 15–12 lead after the first quarter.
The Lady Royals built a double-digit advantage in the second period behind dominant rebounding from Katie Gorski and steady scoring from Kaeli Romanowski, Gorski, and Bennett, extending the lead to 37–27 at halftime.
Pitt responded with a surge in the third quarter, riding an 11–0 run to outscore Scranton 23–7 and move in front heading into the fourth.
Scranton answered with poise, using back-to-back baskets from Talutto and Gorski, a three from Bennett, and strong finishes from Lamanna to erase the deficit and regain momentum.
Talutto later buried a pull-up three and added a step-back jumper as the Lady Royals reclaimed the lead for good.
Scranton's defense locked in down the stretch, highlighted by two key blocks from Bennett and a crucial late stop that set up game-sealing free throws from Romanowski.
