SCRANTON, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's swimming team picked up a strong home win on Saturday afternoon, topping Misericordia University 168-94 at the Byron Recreation Complex.
Scranton started fast with a runner-up finish in the 200-yard medley relay, then took over as the lineup found momentum across the early individual events.
Alyssa Bean led the way with a standout three-win performance, claiming the 100 backstroke (1:00.70), 200 backstroke (2:11.43), and 100 butterfly (1:00.50) with confident wire-to-wire swims.
The Royals also excelled in the distance and middle-distance events:

Kimberly Gingrass won the 500 freestyle in 5:21.34.

Aviah Dahlgren secured victories in both the 200 freestyle (2:00.94) and the 200 IM (2:21.22).

Olivia Thomas earned first place in the 1000 freestyle with a steady swim of 11:06.76.
Scranton swept the 200 butterfly, with Isabella Kane touching first in 2:21.09 and teammates Madison Rae and Samantha Whang close behind.
To close out the meet, the Royals claimed the 400 freestyle relay, as Gingrass, Hailey Wilcox, Bean, and Amelia Griffin posted a winning time of 3:44.41.
With the win, Scranton improves to 3-2 on the year.

Scranton now shifts into invitational action, beginning with the Marywood Diving Invitational on Saturday, Nov. 15 in Scranton. The following week, divers will head to Baltimore for the H2ounds Invitational hosted by Loyola University Maryland (Nov. 21-22), while the full roster travels to Dallas, Pa., for the Cougar Splash Invitational hosted by Misericordia University (Nov. 21-23).
