SCRANTON, PA -- The University of Scranton baseball team was defeated 18-7 by The University of Rochester on Tuesday afternoon at Volpe Field.

How it Happened
- The Yellow Jackets scored three runs and stole four bases in the first inning.Â
- Jack Corcoran of Rochester hit a solo home run in the top of the second to put his squad up 4-0.
- In the bottom of the second, sophomore Jimmy Lundari doubled to center field and scored classmate Jake Lopez.Â
- Rochester hit another homer in the third as Sammy Smith knocked a two-run shot over the center field wall.
- The Yellow Jackets added another home run in the fourth and two more in the sixth to take a an 11-1 lead over the Royals.
- Junior Logan Mason singled to right with the bases loaded to score classmate Conor Campbell. Sophomore Jake Lopez also scored on the play on an error from the right fielder.Â
- Freshman Matthew Gannon followed up with a single to left field that scored graduate student Matthew Querey and advanced Mason to second.
- Mason was driven in later in the inning by junior Aidan Casey, as Scranton cut Rochester's lead to 11-5.
- Campbell scored on a sacrifice fly from sophomore Jared Cassella in the bottom of the seventh to bring Scranton within five runs of the Yellow Jackets.Â
- Rochester scored three runs in both the eighth and ninth innings to take an 18-6 lead.
- Sophomore Brandon Prince singled to right field and scored freshman Joey Granko in the bottom of the ninth.Â

- Campbell and Lopez each scored two runs.
- Casey, Mason, Cassella, Prince, Lundari and Gannon each recorded an RBI.Â
