LEESBURG, FL -- The University of Scranton softball team began its spring break trip in Florida with a 3-2 win over SUNY Cortland on Sunday.

How it Happened
- Scranton scored the first run of the game in the first inning as senior Kylie Rochford scored on a throwing error from the Cortland catcher.
- In the bottom of the second, sophomore Ellyn Cervona led off the inning with a single through the right side. She stole second base later in the inning and advanced to third on a single from fellow sophomore Celia Totaro before scoring on an obstruction error by the Cortland catcher to put the Royals up 2-0.
- The Red Dragons capitalized on a pair of mistakes from Scranton in the third and fourth innings to tie the game up at 2-2.
- Sophomore Savannah Levine entered the game in the sixth inning as a pinch runner for freshman Hailey Poskonka who singled to left center. Levine advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Cervona and scored later in the inning on an error by Cortland.
- Senior Emma Tirollo struck out Cortland's final batter in the seventh inning to secure a 3-2 victory.Â

- Tirollo pitched three scoreless innings to close out the game and allowed just one hit while recording a pair of strikeouts to earn the win and improve to 2-0 on the year.Â
