Jake Elston recorded his 100th career hit as The University of Scranton baseball team defeated Rutgers-Newark 7-2 to remain unbeaten in Florida.

How it Happened
- Sophomore John DeStefano pitched three scoreless innings to start the game but let up a solo home run in the fourth inning as Rutgers-Newark took a 1-0 lead.Â
- Junior Aidan Casey got the Royals on the board in the fifth inning as he drove in sophomore Jared Cassella to tie the game up at 1-1.Â
- Later in the fifth inning with the bases loaded, junior Vincent Napolitano was hit by a pitch to score sophomore Jimmy Lundari.Â
- Scranton scored its third run of the fifth inning on an RBI single from senior Pat Coyne that scored Casey
- Graduate student Matthew Querey was hit by a pitch later in the fifth inning to score Elston and put the Royals up 4-1.
- In the eighth inning, junior John Heitzman drove in Elston with an RBI single to right field.Â
- Rutgers-Newark added a run in the bottom of the eighth to make it 5-2.Â
- A single to right-center in the ninth inning from freshman Joey Granko allowed sophomore James Nitti to score and advanced sophomore Jake Lopez to third base.Â
- Lopez scored later in the inning on a sacrifice bunt from sophomore Jimmy Lundari to put Scranton up 7-2.
- Sophomore Mason Fischer struck out two batters en route to closing out the win for Scranton in the bottom of the ninth.Â

- Elston went 3-6 with 2 runs scored and reached 100 career hits on a triple to right field in the top of the eighth.
