SCRANTON, PA -- The University of Scranton baseball team fell to Elizabethtown College 10-9 in game one but bounced back with a 6-3Â victory in the second game of a Landmark Conference doubleheader at Volpe Field on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened
- ETown took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first with a three RBI double.
- The Blue Jays tacked on three more runs in the top of the second with a three run homer.
- ETown added two more runs in the fourth to take an 8-0 lead.
- Scranton scored its first run of the game in the fourth as freshman Joey Granko recorded an RBI on a ground out that scored junior Conor Campbell.
- The Blue Jays scored two more runs in the sixth inning grow their lead to 10-1.
- Seniors Pat Coyne and TJ Pleban each recorded an RBI in the bottom of the sixth to cut ETown's lead to 10-3.
- Scranton scored six runs on two hits in the bottom of the eighth to get within one of the Blue Jays, 10-9.
- Pleban and fellow senior Jake Elston each recorded an RBI single in the eighth.
- The Royals left two on base in the bottom of the ninth as ETown went on to win, 10-9.

Game 2: Scranton - 6, Elizabethtown - 3
How it Happened
- Sophomore Jared Cassella hit an RBI single to left field that scored Campbell for the first run of the game in the bottom of the second.
- Freshman Matthew Gannon singled to left and scored sophomore Jake Lopez to put Scranton up 2-0 at the end of the second.
- A solo home run from the Blue Jays cut Scranton's lead in half in the top of the fifth.
- Lopez hit a two RBI single to right field in the bottom of the fifth to give Scranton a 4-1 lead.
- Lopez recorded another RBI in the seventh inning as he hit a sacrifice fly to center field that scored junior John Heitzman.
- ETown scored two runs in the top of the eighth to get within one run of the Royals.
- Elston hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth to score Gannon and give Scranton a two run lead.
- Scranton held on to win by a final score of 6-3.
Top Performers
- Junior Matt Scepkowski got the start and threw five innings while allowing just one hit and one run with three strikeouts to earn his second win of the year.
- Graduate student Ryan Walsh threw two innings in relief and allowed just one hit and one run with a pair of strikeouts.
- Mason came in to pitch that final 1.2 innings and earned the save.
- Lopez went 2-3 at the plate with three RBI.
