SCRANTON, PA -- The University of Scranton softball team won the first game of the series 5-2, but fell 14-2 in the second game of a Landmark Conference doubleheader on Wednesday at Magis Field.

How it Happened
- Scranton put up two runs in the bottom of the first as seniors Alyssa Mosconi and Hannah Keane each hit an RBI double.Â
- The Colonels scored a run in the top of the fifth and added another in the top of the sixth to tie the game up at 2-2.
- The Royals took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the sixth with RBI singles from senior Kylie Rochford and Mosconi.
- Scranton recorded three straight outs in the top of the seventh to close out the 5-2 victory.
Top Performers
- Freshman pitcher Emma Douglas pitched a complete game for the second time this season and allowed just two runs and five hits while recording one strikeout.
- Rochford went a perfect 4-4 at the plate and recorded 1 RBI.
- Mosconi went 3-4 with a game-high 2 RBI.
- Keane and sophomore Alexa Bruno each had an RBI.
Game 2 - Wilkes - 14, Scranton - 2 (5 Innings)
How it Happened
- Scranton scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the first as Mosconi hit an RBI double to left center that scored Rochford.
- A three-run double in the top of the second gave Wilkes a 3-1 lead over the Royals.
- The Colonels added five runs on three hits in the top of the third to go up 8-1.Â
- Mosconi notched another RBI in the bottom of the third to cut the lead to six.
- Wilkes scored six runs on six hits in the top of the fourth to take a 14-2 lead.
- The Colonels ended the game by mercy rule after five innings of play, 14-2.
