MADISON, N.J. – The University of Scranton baseball team's comeback fell short as the Royals lost to Drew University, 7-6, at Lonnstrom Stadium in Madison.

How it Happened
- Drew scored five runs, three of which were unearned, on four hits in the in the top of the first inning.
- Scranton got on the board in the top of the second inning when sophomore Jared Cassella drove in junior John Heitzman with a sacrifice-fly.
- The Royals added another run in the top of the sixth as senior Pat Coyne singled home graduate student Matthew Querey to make it 5-2 Drew.
- In the top of the eighth inning, Cassella scored on a two out double from junior Conor Campbell.
- Drew scored a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to extend the lead to 7-3.
- After Drew got the first two outs in the top of the ninth, sophomore Jake Lopez singled, advanced to second, and scored when Cassella doubled down the left field line to drive him in.
- Still with two outs, senior TJ Pleban smashed a two-run home run to cut the Rangers' lead down to just one run at 7-6.
- Junior Aidan Casey kept the rally alive and reached base as the tying run with a single, but Drew closed out the game to win by one.
