LANCASTER, PA -- The University of Scranton baseball team fell to Catholic University 5-3 in the Landmark Conference Championship on Sunday at Penn Medicine Park.

How it Happened
- The Royals opened the scoring in the first inning as junior Conor Campbell crossed the plate on an RBI single from junior John Heitzman.
- Heitzman stayed hot at the plate, blasting a solo home run to right field in the fourth to extend Scranton's lead to 2-0. This marked Heitzman's fourth home run of the tournament, leading all players.
- Catholic erupted for five runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 5-2 lead. A passed ball brought in the Cardinals' first run, followed by two sacrifice flies and a steal of home to give them a 4-2 edge. They added a their fifth run on a two-out RBI single.
- Scranton mounted a push in the eighth, with Campbell scoring again on a bases-loaded infield single by senior Pat Coyne.
- Despite the bases remaining loaded, the Royals couldn't add on, and the Cardinals held on to win by a final score of 5-3.Â
