LANCASTER, PA -- The University of Scranton baseball team came out on top 10-7 in a thrilling extra-inning contest to open up the Landmark Conference Tournament on Friday at Penn Medicine Park.

How it Happened
- Scranton jumped out to a commanding 4-0 lead in the second inning, sparked by an RBI ground out from sophomore Jared Cassella and capped by back-to-back bases-loaded walks from sophomore Jake Lopez and junior Conor Campbell.
- Elizabethtown quickly responded in the bottom half of the second with a five-run rally that gave the Blue Jays a 5-4 lead.
- Senior TJ Pleban tied the game in the third with an RBI double, but ETown regained the lead in the bottom half on an RBI single.
- A wild pitch in the sixth extended Elizabethtown's lead to 7-5.
- In the eighth, Scranton rallied again as junior John Heitzman delivered an RBI infield single, and a throwing error on a base hit by senior Pat Coyne allowed the tying run to score, evening the game at 7-7.
- Senior Jimmy Murray pitched three scoreless innings and recorded a pair of strikeouts late in the game.
- Junior Logan Mason entered the game with the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the 10th and recorded a pair of strikeouts to get out of the jam.
- Scranton pulled ahead for good in the 11th inning on a bases-loaded walk by Lopez, followed by a two-run single up the middle from Campbell.
- Mason and the Royals held ETown scoreless the rest of the way to secure a 10-7 extra-inning victory.
