ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – The University of Scranton women's swimming team earned a convincing road victory over Elizabethtown College on Sunday afternoon, winning the dual meet 189–71 behind strong depth across all event groups and multiple individual victories.
Scranton controlled the distance events early, as Olivia Thomas won the 1000 freestyle in 11:24.03, followed by Meredith Sulman in second and Katherine Grefski in third to secure a sweep of the scoring positions. The Royals continued their success in the 200 freestyle, led by Aviah Dahlgren, who touched first in 2:04.02, with Hailey Wilcox and Kathryn Dilenge adding additional points.
In the backstroke events, Sophia Markatos won the 100 backstroke in 1:05.60, while Katie Hosko and Nichole Koltsov followed close behind. Scranton added more points in the butterfly races, highlighted by Alyssa Bean's win in the 200 butterfly (2:15.79), with Emily White and Samantha Whang also scoring.
The Royals continued to build their lead in the sprint events. Ava Forgione won the 50 freestyle, while Amelia Griffin captured first place in the 100 freestyle (56.81). Scranton added another sweep in the 200 backstroke, led by Alyssa Bean, followed by Lauren Hazlett and Sophia Markatos.
Scranton closed the meet with a strong showing in the relays, winning the 200 freestyle relay behind Amelia Griffin, Hailey Wilcox, Meredith Sulman, and Ava Forgione, while the B relay also finished second to cap a complete team performance.
