Scranton Women's Basketball Cruises Past Lycoming, 88-36

Williamsport, Pa. – The No. 2-ranked University of Scranton women's basketball team cruised to an 88-36 victory over Lycoming College on Wednesday night at the Lamade Gym in Williamsport.

How It Happened

  • After each team traded opening baskets, the Lady Royals went on 14-3 run over the next few minutes to take a commanding 14-5 advantage with five minutes to play in the first quarter. Meghan Lamanna and Katie Gorski contributed five points, while Kaci Kranson tallied two points during the stretch.
  • Scranton closed out the first quarter strong as Elizabeth Bennett buried a three-pointer and Kaitlyn Raguso made a free throw as the Lady Royals took a 20-7 advantage into the second period.
  • The Lady Royals opened the second quarter by scoring eight of the first 10 points, with four different players contributing. Raguso started the surge with a three-pointer, followed by a Gorski layup and a Kranson triple. Kaeli Romanowski capped the run with a three-point play, converting a layup and the ensuing free throw.
  • Scranton closed out the first half outscoring the Warriors 19-5. Sophia Talutto led the way during the quarter with eight points, including two three-pointers, while Romanowski scored three points and added one block and one steal in the period.
  • The Lady Royals carried their momentum into the second half, outscoring Lycoming 25-12 in the third quarter. Kranson led the way with 11 points, while Natalie Stoupakis scored her first five points of the game, highlighted by a three-pointer, as Scranton built a commanding 72–26 lead heading into the fourth.
  • Scranton finished off the Warriors with a solid fourth quarter as the Lady Royals outscored Lycoming 16-10 in the frame. Gabriella Murphy led the quarter with five points and Kelsey Miedreich scored three points to secure an 88-36 victory
