MADISON, N.J. – The University of Scranton women's swimming and diving team earned a decisive 179–111 victory over Drew University on Saturday afternoon, highlighted by multiple event wins and strong depth throughout the lineup.
Senior Aviah Dahlgren led the Royals with a pair of distance victories, winning the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:46.45 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:11.75. Alyssa Bean was also dominant, sweeping the butterfly events with wins in the 200-yard butterfly (2:11.19) and the 100-yard butterfly (59.61).
Scranton controlled the diving events, as Nicole Stofko won both boards, scoring 180.60 on the one-meter and 211.13 on the three-meter. Chloe Furlong added runner-up finishes in both events.
Additional wins came from Kimberly Gingrass in the 50-yard freestyle and Meredith Sulman in the 200-yard individual medley. The Royals also placed second in the 200-yard freestyle relay to close out the meet.
The Royals will now gear up for the Landmark Conference Championships on Feb. 12-15 at the Loyola Maryland Aquatic Center.
