Royal Reflection: Natalie Stoupakis, Women's Basketball

Royal Reflection highlights senior student-athletes who represent what it means to be a Royal. In this edition, we feature Natalie Stoupakis of The University of Scranton women's basketball team as she reflects on the moments that defined her time as a Royal. 

Describe your Scranton experience in three words 

  • Valuable, Unforgettable, Rewarding 

What does being a Royal athlete mean to you? 

  • Being a Royal athlete means representing a program that has high standards both on and off the court. It's bigger than just winning; it's about pushing yourself to be the best every single day.  

Do you have a go-to pre game or pre-competition ritual? 

  • Praying during the National Anthem 

What's the biggest lesson you've learned as a Royal athlete? 

  • Nothing is ever guaranteed, so live in the moment and push yourself even on tough days.  

Favorite memory? 

  • Beating NYU in the Final 4 to compete for a National Championship  

What's something you've learned from a teammate that has stuck with you? 

  • To enjoy the ride to the fullest, because it goes by fast  

Any advice for incoming student-athletes? 

  • Don't be afraid to fail because that is when you learn the most. 

What are you most proud of from your time at Scranton? 

  • I am most proud of how much I have grown since freshman year as a person and how I learned to see the good in every day.  

What's one message you'd like to leave for your teammates? 

  • Always strive to be better, but to enjoy the little moments throughout your college career.
