Sophomore Jake Brunetti of the University of Scranton men's swim and dive team has been named the Scranton Peggy's Athlete of the Week following a record-breaking performance against Gettysburg last Saturday.

Brunetti took second in the 100 back (51.52), fourth in the 200 back (1:56.39), and led off both the medley and 400 free relay A teams. In the 400 free relay, Brunetti broke the 100 free record with an opening split of 46.66. The record was previously held by Michael Fimmano (46.90), who set the record in 2020. 

Brunetti and the Royals return to action on Saturday, November 7, as they head to Misericordia University for a dual match. Action is set to start at 1:00 PM.
