Lady Royals Give Back with Feeding Southwest Virginia Ahead of National Championship

Ahead of their appearance in the NCAA Division III National Championship, The University of Scranton women's basketball team took time to make an impact off the court, partnering with Feeding Southwest Virginia for a meaningful community service initiative.

As part of the larger Feeding America network and the Federation of Virginia Food Banks, Feeding Southwest Virginia plays a vital role in addressing food insecurity across the region. The organization distributes nearly 19 million pounds of food annually, ensuring that individuals and families of all ages have access to essential resources.

During their visit, the Lady Royals contributed their time and energy to support these efforts, helping further a mission where 94% of every dollar donated goes directly toward providing food to those in need. The experience offered a powerful reminder of the importance of community, service, and using their platform for good.

While their focus remains on competing for a national title, Scranton's commitment to giving back highlights the program's values beyond basketball. The team continues to demonstrate leadership, compassion, and a dedication to making a difference wherever they go.
