Romanowski of Women's Basketball Named Peggy's Scranton Athlete of the Week

Senior guard Kaeli Romanowski earned Peggy's Athlete of the Week honors after a standout performance on the national stage at the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Final Four in Salem, Virginia.

In Thursday's win over No. 1 NYU, Romanowski played a pivotal role in ending the Violets' 91-game winning streak, sending the Royals to their first National Championship appearance in 40 years. The Lake Ariel, Pa., native posted a game-high and career-best 16 rebounds, while also contributing a season-high 14 points, five steals, and two assists in the 60–52 victory over the two-time defending champions.

She followed that performance with another dominant outing in the National Championship game, setting a new career high with 17 rebounds just two days later. Romanowski also added nine points, two blocks, two assists, and two steals against Denison.

For her efforts, Romanowski was named to the All-Tournament Team after totaling 33 rebounds, 23 points, seven steals, and four assists while shooting 8-of-13 from the field across the two games. Earlier in the week, she also earned WBCA All-American Honorable Mention and D3hoops.com All-American recognition following her outstanding senior campaign.

This season, Romanowski became the Landmark Conference's all-time leader in career steals, highlighting a year in which she also set single-season records for steals in both Landmark and Scranton history with 126. She was named Landmark Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference, and First Team All-Region to cap off her impressive senior season.
