The University of Scranton baseball team defeated Wilkes University, 11-6, on Wednesday evening at Volpe Field in Scranton.

How it Happened
- Wilkes struck first in the top of the opening inning, scoring on a two-out RBI single.
- Scranton answered in the bottom half, as Joey Granko delivered a two-out single and came around to score one batter later on John Heitzman's RBI double to right-center, tying the game at 1-1.
- The Colonels moved back in front in the top of the third, plating one run on a groundout and another on a sacrifice fly to take a 3-1 lead.
- Conor Campbell opened the bottom of the third with a single, and two batters later Joey Granko launched a two-run homer to left field, evening the score at 3-3.
- In the top of the fourth, Wilkes loaded the bases with two hit batters and a walk, and a subsequent walk brought home the go-ahead run to make it 4-3.
- Scranton evened the score in the bottom of the sixth when Vincent Napolitano launched a solo home run over the center field wall to make it 4-4. The Royals kept the momentum going, scoring on a wild pitch and an error before John Hetman delivered an RBI single to cap a four-run inning and give Scranton a 7-4 advantage.
- The Royals added four more in the bottom of the seventh. With the bases loaded, Joey Granko lined a single through the right side to score Evan Laub, and one batter later John Heitzman ripped a bases-clearing double to push the lead to 11-4.
- Wilkes picked up a pair of runs in the top of the eighth on a bases-loaded walk and an error, trimming the deficit to 11-6.
- Logan Mason took the mound in the ninth and fired a scoreless inning to seal the victory for the Royals.
