The University of Scranton head women's basketball coach Kaitlyn Lewis has announced the addition of Lexie Tarul as an assistant coach for the Lady Royals ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Tarul joins the Royals following a standout NCAA Division I playing career at Marist University, where she was a three-year starter, two-year team captain, two-time All-MAAC Third Team selection, two-time MAAC All-Academic Team honoree, and two-time College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District selection.
As a graduate student in 2025-26, Tarul started all 31 games and averaged 12.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.2 assists per game while leading the team with 63 three-pointers. She also finished second on the team in scoring and rebounds. During the 2024-25 season, Tarul averaged 11.5 points per game while again leading the Red Foxes in three-pointers made.
Prior to Marist, Tarul spent two seasons at Fordham University before transferring to the Red Foxes. She concluded her collegiate career as one of the MAAC's top perimeter shooters and helped lead Marist from a six-win season to a 16-win campaign during her time as a captain.
In addition to her playing experience, Tarul has coached at Marist's summer basketball camps and served as a CYO youth basketball coach. She also completed an internship with Marist's Center for Student-Athlete Enhancement, where she mentored incoming student-athletes, assisted with community service initiatives, and helped students transition to collegiate life.
A native of the Bronx, New York, Tarul earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from Marist University in 2025 and is expected to complete her Master of Business Administration this summer.
