The University of Scranton women's basketball program has completed its coaching staff for the 2026-27 season, as announced by head coach Kaitlyn Lewis, with Erica Haefele returning for her third season as an assistant coach and Kaeli Romanowski joining the staff as a student assistant coach.
Haefele enters her third season on the Lady Royals' coaching staff after helping Scranton continue its historic run of success. During her first two seasons, Scranton captured back-to-back Landmark Conference championships, including the program's 11th consecutive conference title in 2025-26, and advanced to the NCAA Division III National Championship game last season.
Prior to joining Scranton, Haefele spent four seasons as an assistant coach with the NEPA Elite AAU program. She was a four-year player and three-time captain at Misericordia University.
Romanowski joins the coaching staff following a standout three-year playing career with the Royals. A three-time All-Landmark Conference selection, she was a two-time Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Year and the 2025 Landmark Conference Championship MVP.
Romanowski earned WBCA All-American Honorable Mention and D3hoops.com All-American honors in 2026. She was also a three-time CSC Academic All-District honoree, a CSC Second Team Academic All-American and the 2026 Landmark Conference Women's Basketball Senior Scholar-Athlete.
The Lady Royals enter the 2026-27 season following a historic 2025-26 campaign in which they posted a 32-1 record, won their 11th straight Landmark Conference championship and advanced to the NCAA Division III National Championship game.
