Joe Bennett enters his second year as the hurdles coach for the Scranton Track & Field programs in 2024. Known for his technical expertise and passion for mentoring athletes, he has become a beloved figure among his students. In addition to coaching, JB is also part of the University of Scranton’s ROTC program as an MSI instructor. His dedication to both athletics and leadership development reflects his commitment to excellence and holistic growth for his athletes and students alike.

Joe Bennett, affectionately known as “Coach JB,” a graduate of Kansas State University, hailed from St. Ann’s Bay, Jamaica. A decorated track and field athlete, he competed for Kansas State University in a wide range of events both indoors and outdoors. Indoors, JB excelled in the 60m, 200m, 400m, 600 yards, 600m, and the 4x400m relay. Outdoors, he competed in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 400m hurdles, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m relay.
