Biography

  • Four-year letter-winner who started 74 games and made 80 appearances in the circle in one of Scranton's most decorated pitching careers
  • Was a two-time All-Landmark Conference Second Team honoree and was named CoSIDA Academic All-District as a senior
  • Recorded a 46-26 overall record with a 2.65 ERA and 376 strikeouts
  • Tossed 60 complete games during her career 
  • Ranks among Scranton's all-time career pitching leaders in numerous categories: innings pitched (1st, 470.2); appearances (1st), wins (1st); games started (1st), strikeouts (1st); strikeouts per 7-inning game (1st, 5.59); fewest walks per 7-inning game (5th, 1.70); and ERA (9th)
  • Was also a career .276 batter with 47 hits, 13 doubles, three home runs, 28 RBI, and 24 runs scored

Senior Year (2018)

Junior Year (2017)

  • Made 20 appearances in the circle including 18 starts, posting a 13-6 record with one save and 15 complete games
  • Had a 1.96 ERA while striking out 85 batters in 114.1 innings of work
  • Averaged 5.20 strikeouts per seven innings
  • Limited opponents to a .246 batting average
  • Tossed a complete game, two-hit shutout in a 9-0 win over Gordon on March 13
  • At the plate, she batted .259 with 14 hits including two doubles
  • Totaled seven RBI while scoring six runs
  • Finished the spring with a .339 on-base percentage and a .296 slugging percentage
  • Recorded five putouts and 17 assists for a .967 fielding percentage
  • Led the Royals' pitching staff in ERA, innings pitched, strikeouts, wins, saves, appearances, games started, and complete games while tying for the team-lead in shutouts
  • Finished among Scranton's all-time single-season leaders in numerous pitching categories: wins (tied for 3rd), strikeouts (4th), complete games (tied for 4th), games started (tied for 4th), strikeouts per 7-innings (tied for 6th), appearances (tied for 6th), innings pitched (8th), ERA (14th), fewest walks allowed per 7-inning game (16th)

Sophomore Year (2016)

  • Game-by-Game Statistics
  • Started 18 games in the circle for Scranton on the year, posting a 9-7 record, with a 3.46 ERA
  • Tossed eight complete games throughout the course of the season, recording 79 strikeouts, while allowing just 18 walks
  • Allowed a run on four hits against Colby on Mar. 23, helping Scranton record a 3-1 victory as part of their Spring Break trip, striking out seven in the win
  • Won three of her final four starts of the season
  • Tossed a five innings of shutout softball verses Keystone on Apr. 13, helping Scranton record a 5-1 victory
  • Struck out a season-high eight batters at Misericordia on Apr. 19, and had seven strikeouts in a win over Elizabethtown on Apr. 17
  • Also had 16 at-bats throughout the course of the year
  • Had two home runs, the first against Muhlenberg on Apr. 27 and the second at Moravian during the Landmark Conference Playoffs on May 7
  • Had four total hits, scoring six runs and recording five RBI
  • Also forced four walks and was hit by a pitch in her appearances at the plate, as well

Freshman Year (2015)

  • Earned second-team All-Landmark Conference honors in a vote conducted among the conference's seven head coaches
  • Led Royal pitching staff in earned run average (2.43), wins (12), appearances (22), games started (18), complete games (14), saves (2), innings pitched (123.2),  strikeouts (110), and opponent batting average (.281)
  • Her 6.23 strikeouts per 7 innings is the third-highest in a single-season in Royals' history
  • Is also tied for third in most appearances, fourth in innings pitched, and games started tied for fourth in wins (12), eighth in complete games, 10th in opponent batting average, and 17th in earned run average on the Royals' single-season list
  • Struck out five-or-more batters 11 times, including a season-high of 11 against D'Youville on March 19 as part of a Spring Break trip to Clermont, Florida, and 10 against SUNY Fredonia on March 16
  • Did not allow an earned run in six appearances and allowed only one in four other appearances
  • Had more strikeouts than walks in 18 appearances
  • Allowed one-or-fewer walks in in 15 appearances
  • Earned the first of her two saves by getting the final two outs in a 5-4 win over FDU-Florham on March 18 in Clermont, Florida, and the other by striking out four en route to throwing two scoreless innings in an 11-6 win over Muhlenberg in the first game of a doubleheader on April 28 in Allentown, Pennsylvania
  • Allowed three-or-fewer hits in six appearances
  • Less than 18 percent of the hits she gave up went for extra bases
  • Led the Landmark Conference in saves and finished fourth in strikeouts per 7-inning game and innings pitched

  • Earned first-team all-state honors and was named the Allentown Morning Call Pitcher of the Year
  • Was also named Parkland Press Athlete of the Year
  • Parkland won the Lehigh Valley Conference and PIAA District 12 championships in 2014
  • Member of the high honor roll
  • Is a starter on the University of Scranton volleyball team
  • Daughter of Karl & Melissa Rentzheimer
  • Her father played baseball collegiately at West Chester University
