Biography

  • Two-year letter-winner who became Scranton's first All-American in track & field during the program's first season
  • Is a two-time Landmark Conference champion in the high jump, winning the indoor and outdoor titles during her sophomore year
  • Holds program records in the indoor and outdoor high jump, and the outdoor 200 meter dash

Junior Year (2018-19)

  • Competed in 12 meets during her second year with the program across the indoor and outdoor seasons
  • Earned Second Team All-Conference honors during both the indoor and outdoor seasons by finishing second in the high jump at the Landmark Conference Championships
  • Won the high jump competition at four meets and was second in event five times
  • Clocked a personal record time of 14:04 in the 100 meter dash at the Golden Ram Invitational on Mar. 23

Sophomore Year (2017-18)

  • Became the first track & field All-American in Scranton history by finishing seventh in the high jump by clearing 1.68 meters at the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 9-10.
  • Won the Landmark Conference indoor and outdoor high jump championships, clearing 1.67 meters to win the indoor title in February and 1.62 meters to win the outdoor crown in May.
  • Also qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the high jump, finishing 17th.
  • Won the high jump in a total of nine events between the indoor and outdoor seasons, including a season-best leap of 1.71 meters at the Marc Deneault Invitational on Feb. 17 at Cornell.
  • Also finished sixth in the long jump at the Landmark Conference Outdoor Championships with a jump of 4.82 meters.

High school/personal

  • Daughter of Michael Banas and Theresa Dubbelman-Banas.
  • Her father, known as Mickey, was the starting center on The University of Scranton's men's basketball team that won the national title in 1983. He was a three-time Mid-Atlantic All-Region honoree and a three-time All-Middle Atlanctic Conference selection during his career and is a member of the University's Wall of Fame.
  • Also had a brother, Brian, who plays golf for The University of Scranton.
