Michael Sweitzer

Michael Sweitzer joined The University of Scranton Athletic Training Staff in August 2015. He is a staff certified athletic trainer for the Geisinger Health System and provides athletic training services to all 23 NCAA varsity intercollegiate athletic teams at The University of Scranton.

He joined the Royals after spending the previous six years at Frostburg State University where he worked with various athletic teams but primarily provided coverage for baseball and football.

Prior to his time at Frostburg, Michael gained experience as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for Albert Gallatin High School, and also gained internship experiences at Camp Woodward where he covered gymnastics, cheerleading, and action sports. He also has volunteered as an athletic trainer for The Special Olympics of Pennsylvania and the Action Sports Medicine Foundation.

Michael earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from King’s College in 2007 and his Master of Science degree in Athletic Training from West Virginia University in 2009. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers’ Association.
