SCRANTON, Pa.—Sophomore Julia Crilly (Rochester, NY/Aquinas Institute) and senior Jenell McFadden (Springfield, Pa./Merion Mercy Academy) combined for 25 kills and 14 digs to lead The University of Scranton volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Wilkes University in non-conference action Monday evening at the Long Center.

The Royals, now 15-10, also got a strong effort at the net from junior middle hitter Kelly Nolan (Pearl River, NY/Albertus Magnus), who finished with five of Scranton’s 10 blocks, three of which were solos, and senior libero Marissa Every (East Norriton, Pa./Mt. St. Joseph Academy) had 11 digs.  Scranton, which hit .202 for the match, also received 16 assists and two service aces from senior setter Emily Keim (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty).  

Wilkes, now 7-13, was led by junior middle hitter Casey Bohan (Harding, Pa./Wyoming Area) with eight kills and junior libero Erin Nothstein (Metztown, Pa./Brandywine Heights) finished with a match-high 24 digs.

Scranton also received five service aces from Crilly, who now has 76 for her career.

Scranton will host Cairn University this Thursday, October 11, at 7:00 p.m. at the Long Center.  Prior to the match, Every, Keim, McFadden and Juli Woods (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) will be honored as part of Senior Night festivities.
