SCRANTON, Pa.—Sophomore Julia Crilly (Rochester, NY/Aquinas Institute)
and senior Jenell McFadden (Springfield, Pa./Merion Mercy
Academy) combined for 25 kills and 14 digs to lead The
University of Scranton volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Wilkes
University in non-conference action Monday evening at the Long
Center.
The Royals, now 15-10, also got a strong effort at the net from
junior middle hitter Kelly
Nolan (Pearl River, NY/Albertus Magnus), who finished
with five of Scranton’s 10 blocks, three of which were solos,
and senior libero Marissa Every (East Norriton, Pa./Mt. St. Joseph
Academy) had 11 digs. Scranton, which hit .202 for
the match, also received 16 assists and two service aces from
senior setter Emily
Keim (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty).
Wilkes, now 7-13, was led by junior middle hitter Casey Bohan
(Harding, Pa./Wyoming Area) with eight kills and junior libero Erin
Nothstein (Metztown, Pa./Brandywine Heights) finished with a
match-high 24 digs.
Scranton also received five service aces from Crilly, who now has
76 for her career.
The Royals wore purple jersey with pink numbers as part of their
Dig Pink Initiative to raise money to support breast cancer
research through the Side-Out Foundation. Donations can be

Scranton will host Cairn University this Thursday, October 11, at
7:00 p.m. at the Long Center. Prior to the match, Every,
Keim, McFadden and Juli
Woods (Wallingford, Pa./Strath Haven) will be honored
as part of Senior Night festivities.
