GETTYSBURG, Pa.—Sophomore outside hitter Julia Crilly (Rochester, NY/Aquinas Institute)
earned all-tournament honors in leading The University of Scranton
to a 4-0 record at the Battlefield Classic on the campus of
Gettysburg College Friday and Saturday.
The Royals dropped only one set all weekend long to open a season
4-0 for the first time since 2007.
On Friday, Scranton downed Dickinson, 3-0 (25-10, 25-19, 25-14),
and RIT, 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-22), before coming back today to
turn back Mt. St. Mary (NY), 3-1 (25-18, 25-16, 22-25, 25-19), and
Gettysburg, 3-0 (25-14, 25-15, 25-20).
The Royals will return to action Tuesday, September 4, in their
home opener against King’s College beginning at 7:00 p.m. in
the Long Center.
