RADNOR, Pa.—Junior outside hitter Julia Crilly (Rochester, NY/Aquinas Institute)
return to the lineup today for The University of Scranton
volleyball team against Rutgers-Camden and Cabrini College.
After missing part of last Tuesday’s match against Penn
St.-Berks with an injury and sitting out Thursday’s win at
Wilkes, Crilly returned to her old self today, coming up with 12
kills and 19 digs as the Royals downed Rutgers-Camden, 3-2.
Scranton ended the day with a 3-0 loss to Cabrini.
Against Rutgers-Camden, steadily improving sophomore outside hitter
Lizzy Zimmermann (Livingston, NJ/Livingston)
led Scranton with 13 kills and sophomore middle hitter Rachael Cisto (Oxford, Conn./Sacred Heart
Academy) had nine kills, eight digs and six total
blocks. Scranton also received seven kills and five total
blocks from senior middle hitter Kelly
Johnson (Pearl River, NY/Albertus Magnus) and 41
assists and 10 digs from freshman setter Bailey Woods (Wallingford,
Pa./Strath Haven).
Against Cabrini, Crilly finished with nine kills and 15 digs and
Cisto and right-side hitter Stephanie Klug (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood)
contributed five kills apiece.
Crilly’s 21 kills today moves her into fifth place on the
Royals’ all-time list with 1148 while her 34 digs gives her
1117, which is the 14th most all-time in Scranton history.
Johnson finished with seven total blocks today, which gives her 250
for her career, 10th on the Royals’ all-time list.
Scranton will return to action Tuesday, October 29, against
Marywood University at the Insalaco Arena beginning at 7 p.m.
