Box Score Off to its best start in school history, The University of Scranton field hockey team is now getting attention on the national level.
According to FieldHockeyCorner.com, the Royals are ranked 27th nationally and eighth in the South Atlantic region.
Four factors figure into this organization's rankings: team record, Average Computer Ranking (ACR), Ratings Percentage Index (RPI), and strength of schedule (SOS).
As of today, Scranton is 7-0, with an ACR of 97.2, an RPI of .564, and an SOS of .418.
The Royals will get plenty of opportunities to move up in the rankings, especially since they play two opponents currently ranking ahead of them. Scranton will host 2nd-ranked Montclair St. on Wednesday, October 23, and will take on defending Landmark Conference champion and 12th-ranked Catholic University on Saturday, November 2, in Washington, DC.
The Royals, now 7-0, meet Immaculata University this evening in Immaculata, Pennsylvania, beginning at 7:00 p.m., before returning home to take on 4-time Landmark Conference champion Juniata College this Saturday, September 28, at 1:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Field.
