BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The University of Scranton men's soccer team had a decided advantage in shots, but could not find the back of the net and settled for a 0-0 draw in double overtime at Moravian on Wednesday afternoon.

The match was halted with 2:37 left in the second overtime as the officials determined that it was too dark to continue for safety reasons. NCAA rules state that at least 70 minutes must be played for a match to be considered official.

Scranton (9-4-2, 3-2-1 Landmark) had a pair of good scoring chances just before the match was stopped. Senior forward Kevin Kozic (Raritan, N.J./Immaculata) had a diving header that was saved by the Moravian goalkeeper in the 107th minute, and a minute later he had a shot from 18 yards out that was also saved.

The Greyhounds (5-8-3, 3-3-1 Landmark) also had a good chance two minutes into the first overtime, but Royals sophomore goalkeeper Eric Hintz (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor) dove to tip the shot just over the crossbar, the last of his three saves in the match.

The Royals finished with a 20-7 advantage in shots, led by six from Kozic. Moravian held an 8-4 edge in corner kicks.

Scranton now has 10 points in Landmark Conference play, moving the Royals into a three-way tie for third with Drew and Moravian with two games remaining in conference play.

The Royals play the first of those two conference games when they return to action on Saturday against Merchant Marine Academy at noon in Kings Point, N.Y.
