Men's Soccer Falls on the Road at Goucher, 1-0, in Landmark Conference Tilt

TOWSON, Md. - A goal in the 70th minute by Goucher was the difference, as the host Gophers were able to get past the University of Scranton men's soccer team, 1-0, in Landmark Conference play on Saturday afternoon.

With the loss, the Royals fell to 6-4-1, 2-1-1 in the Landmark, while Goucher improved to 4-7-1, 1-3 in the Landmark with the win.

In the loss, Scranton found some hard luck offensively in both halves, as they could not get six shots on net past Goucher goalie Daniel Hendry, who made a save on each attempt the Royals made in the contest.

Goucher had just three shots in the entire match, but slipped one into the net with 20 minutes remaining to get past the Royals by a score.

Overall, senior Michael Romano (Freehold, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) posted the most shots on the day for Scranton firing eight overall and four on goal.

The University of Scranton men's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, finishing off their four-match road swing at Dickinson in out-of-conference play. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
