Box Score SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The University of Scranton saw their 2015 season come to a close on Wednesday night at second-seeded Susquehanna, as the host Crusaders bested the third-seeded Royals in three sets (21-25, 17-25, 17-25) in the semifinals of the 2015 Landmark Conference Tournament.
With the loss, Scranton ends their 2015 campaign with a 25-12 overall mark, while Susquehanna improves to 26-9 with the win and moves onto the Championship match of the Landmark Conference Tournament on Saturday.
In the defeat, freshman Kristin Kirwan (Park Ridge, N.J./Immaculate Heart Academy) led the attack with seven kills, while junior setter Brittany Cafiero (Merrick, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) ended her season with a 22 assist evening to finish off the year with 994 total assists, which is the ninth best season all-time in the category.
With their 25-win total for the year, Scranton ends with their most wins in a season since 2007. The Royals also advanced to the semifinals of the Landmark Conference Tournament for the third straight year, as well.
