Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

One alum and one current member of the University of Scranton softball team were named to the Landmark Conference's All-Decade Team for Softball on Friday. Earning a spot on the team were Annie Zeleniak (2008-2011) and senior Shannon Stricker (Morrisville, Pa./Conwell Egan).

The criteria to make the Landmark's All-Decade Team was as follows: Athletes that were named All-Conference First Team a minimum of two times, and/or were named Landmark Player of the Year, during their career will be nominated automatically, and each team had the opportunity to nominate additional individuals for consideration. The All-Decade team was selected by the membership.

Zeleniak, a native of Taylor, finished her career as a .442 hitter for the Royals, which is still the second best average in a career in the history of the program. Zeleniak is still the program's all-time hit leader with 186 hits, and on top in program history in career runs scored (114). RBIs (149), and doubles (46).

The 2011 Landmark Conference Co-Player of the Year, Zeleniak was named to the All-Landmark Conference First Team twice (2010 and 2011), and the Second Team once (2009). She was also honored for her work in the classroom, earning a spot on the Landmark Conference's Academic Honor Roll three times (2009, 2010, 2011).

Stricker, who will play in her final home games on Saturday, has had just as decorated of a career as Zeleniak. To date, she is ranked in the top five all-time in a career in doubles (2nd with 41), runs scored (3rd with 106), batting average (3rd at .407), and RBIs (3rd at 114).

In 2016, Stricker was named the Landmark Conference's Player of the Year, and has earned All-Landmark Conference First Team honors in each of the last two seasons.

A 2014 All-Landmark Conference Second Team selection, Stricker has also been honored for her work in the classroom, earning CoSIDA Academic All-District (2016) and Landmark Academic Honor Roll (2015, 2016) accolades throughout her career.
