HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – Despite firing off 31 shots – including 15 on goal – and generating 19 corner kick opportunities, The University of Scranton men's soccer team was unable to find the back of the net in a 1-0 loss at Centenary on Tuesday in a non-conference match.

The Cyclones (4-7) capitalized in the 11^th minutes, scoring the game's only goal on one of just eight shots for hosts in the victory.

Scranton (3-5-2) dominated the territorial play in the opening half, attempting 17 shots to four for Centenary, but Cyclones' goalkeeper Devon Warne made 10 saves and a defender also saved a goal-bound shot to keep the Royals off the scoreboard. 

At the other end, Josh Weiss finished off Centenary's second shot of the period to give the Cyclones the unlikely lead.

The second half proved to be more of the same as Scranton held a 14-4 advantage in shots, but struggled to find the frame with only four shots on goal, each of which was handled by Warne.

Sophomore Aidan Thornell (Summit, N.J./Saint Peter's Prep) attempted a game-high seven shots while senior Kieran Bracken (Stamford, Conn./South Kent) and junior Jon Roberts (Whitehouse Station, N.J./Immaculata-Somerville)

Junior goalkeeper Blake Hammert (Archbald, Pa./Scranton Prep) suffered the loss after making one save in the first half while freshman Jake Hodlofski (West Chester, Pa./Malvern Prep) made one save in final 45 minutes of play for the Royals.

Scranton will visit Moravian on Saturday for a Landmark Conference match starting at 1 p.m. in Bethlehem.
