SELINSGROVE, Pa. – Junior Patrick Prinner (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) scored the only goal of Saturday afternoon's Landmark Conference men's soccer match at Susquehanna in the 80th minute to lift The University of Scranton to a 1-0 victory as the Royals kept their postseason hopes alive with their second straight shutout victory.

Freshman goalkeeper Jake Hodlofski (West Chester, Pa./Malvern Prep) made seven saves to record his second clean sheet for Scranton, which lifted its record to 5-8-2 on the fall and 3-3 in Landmark Conference matches.

Elizabethtown, Catholic, and Drew have already clinched playoff berths.  Scranton and Moravian are tied for the final playoff spot with nine points apiece while Goucher is sixth with six points.  The Royals finish the regular season at home next Saturday against Juniata while the Greyhounds travel to Goucher.

Moravian currently holds the head-to-head tie-breaker over Scranton, so the Royals will need to earn at least one more point than the Greyhounds next Saturday to secure a spot in the postseason tournament.

Neither side was able to produce a goal in the first half of Saturday's contest at Susquehanna with the River Hawks (2-11-2, 1-4-1 Landmark) holding a 6-4 edge in shots during the frame.

The home side went on to outshoot the Royals 11-4 in the second half, but Prinner had the only won that counted, finishing off a pass from senior Kieran Bracken (Stamford, Conn./South Kent) with 10:27 left in regulation.

Prinner's goal was his second of the season while Bracken's assist was his second helper of the fall.

Susquehanna finished the day with a 17-8 advantage in shots while the Royals held a 7-5 edge in corner kicks.

Scranton's all-important regular season finale against Juniata will start at 1 p.m. at Weiss Field next Saturday.  The Royals will honor the team's seniors prior to Saturday's game at Weiss Field.
