Women's Soccer Rolls To 5-1 Win Over Juniata In Regular Season Finale

The University of Scranton women's soccer team saw five different players score goals as the Royals capped their regular season with a 5-1 victory over Juniata on Senior Day at Weiss Field on Saturday.

Seniors Jamie Hreniuk (West Caldwell, N.J./James Caldwell) and Erica Licari (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown East), and sophomores Corinne McDonald (Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South), Erin Toburen (Harleysville, Pa./Lansdale Catholic) and Mazie Stiles (West Nyack, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) all scored goals in the victory. McDonald, Stiles and Hreniuk added assists, as well.

For Hreniuk, it was her team-leading 10th goal and her first assists of the season. She now has 35 career goals, tied for eighth most in program history. Her 75 career points are 13th most in program history.

Toburen's goal was her sixth, second-most on the squad. McDonald picked up her fifth goal and third assist, giving her 13 points, second on the team. Licari scored her fifth goal and now has 12 points, tied with Toburen for third on the team. Stiles earned her second goal of the season.

The Royals (14-1-2, 7-0-0 Landmark) dominated play all afternoon, leading to a decisive 28-2 edge in shots, including a team-high six from McDonald. Scranton also had a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.

The victory capped another unbeaten regular season in Landmark Conference play. The Royals have now won 25 straight against conference foes, including postseason play.

Prior to kickoff, The University of Scranton honored the Royals' six seniors – goalkeeper Colleen Berry (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood), forward Annelise DePaulo (Roseto, Pa./Moravian Academy), Hreniuk, Licari, midfielder Taylor Stevens (Yardley, Pa./Villa Joseph Marie) and midfielder Brittany Uricchio (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury).

The women's soccer team will host fourth-seeded Moravian in a Landmark Conference semifinal on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. at Weiss Field.
