BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sophomore forward Mazie Stiles (Nyack, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) scored in the first half and freshman defender Hope Drewes (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) matched her with a second-half goal as The University of Scranton women's soccer team remained unbeaten with a 2-0 win at Moravian in a Landmark Conference match on Saturday.

The Royals (10-0-1, 3-0-0 Landmark) have now won six straight, the last five by shutout. The six straight wins match Scranton's longest win streak last season, which also came midway through the season and featured five straight shutouts. The Royals are off to their longest unbeaten streak to open a season since 2003 when they went 23-0-1 before falling in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Saturday's affair featured solid play at both ends of the field for Scranton. Stiles broke the ice in the 16th minute when she got free down the sideline, dribbled in and beat the keeper for her first goal of the season and second of her career.

Drewes doubled the lead in the 49th minute when she scored her first career goal when she fired a loose ball into the top of the net after a Royals corner kick.

Scranton held a 12-5 edge in shots and 7-2 in corner kicks. Senior goalkeeper Colleen Berry (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood) made two stops for her fifth shutout of the season and 18th of her career. She ranks tied for seventh in team history in career shutouts. She currently has a 0.33 goals-against average this season, which ranks in the top 20 in NCAA Division III.

The women's soccer team will be back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 10, when the Royals host Drew in a Landmark Conference match at 7 p.m. at Weiss Field.
