SCRANTON -- Junior Jillian Graham (Wantagh, N.Y./Wantagh) and freshman Carah Vitkus (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) both had double-digit kill performances on the night, but it wasn't enough, as 25th-ranked Susquehanna rolled past The University of Scranton volleyball team, 3-0, on Wednesday evening inside the John Long Center (17-25, 17-25, 19-25) in Landmark Conference play.

With the defeat, the Royals dropped to 12-11 overall, 1-2 in the Landmark Conference, while Susquehanna improved to 22-3 and 4-0 in the Landmark with the win.

In the match, Susquehanna opened insurmountable leads early on Scranton in both the first and second sets to eventually take both by the same score of 25-17 to open a 2-0 lead entering the third set.

There, Scranton battled back, keeping it close throughout. But, the Royals were only able to tie the set once (at 11-11), as Susquehanna used a 5-1 run late in action to pull away and take a six-point, game-clinching win over the Royals.

Overall, Vitkus and Graham put together strong nights on the attack in the defeat, both posting 10 kills, apiece. For Vitkus, it marked the seventh straight match in which she hit double-figures in kills, while Graham accomplished the feat for the sixth time on the year.

Elsewhere, junior Kindler Norman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) set up the attack with 21 assists, while collecting 12 digs, and sophomore Molly Dunfee (King of Prussia, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) paced the defense with 13 digs on the evening.

The University of Scranton volleyball team returns to action on Saturday, as they travel to Kean for a pair of matches at the Kean University Invitational. First, at 12 p.m., Scranton takes on Northwestern (Minn.), then at 2 p.m., the Royals will face off with Hunter.
