ITHACA, N.Y. – The University of Scranton women's track & field team held its own competition from NCAA Division I, II, and III programs at the Marc Denault Invitational hosted by Cornell University on Saturday as the Royals totaled eight top-10 results on the day.

Junior Caroline Banas (Dallas, Pa./Holy Redeemer) continued her strong indoor campaign in the high jump, finishing third by clearing the bar at 1.60 meters.  She finished behind jumpers from Syracuse and Cornell.

Freshman Meghan McGonigle (Mullica Hill, N.J./Gloucester Catholic) finished fifth in the high jump with a leap of 1.50 meters and also placed eighth in the long jump with a mark of 4.56 meters, one place ahead of Banas, who was ninth.

Junior Chrissy Noonan (Baldwin, N.Y./Baldwin) brought home a sixth place result in the 60 meter hurdles, posting personal record time of 10.26 seconds in the finals, the sixth fastest mark in the Landmark Conference this season.

Sophomore Rachel Kerr (Dickson City, Pa./Scranton Prep) had a strong showing in the 3,000 meter run, posting a time of 10:48.13 to finish seventh while setting a new personal record by 10 seconds.  Her performance moved her up to fifth place in the conference this winter. 

Freshman AnnMarie Onwuka (Newburgh, N.Y./Newburgh Free Academy) brought home a seventh place finish in the 400 meter dash, clocking a time of 1:03.24 in the race.  She also moved up to eighth place in the Landmark Conference in the 200 meter dash, clocking in at 28.13 seconds to place 15th.

Freshman Jessica Hoffmann (Millington, N.J./Watchung Hills Regional) improve her personal record time in the 3,000 meter run, placing ninth with a time of 10:56.46, eighth best in the conference.

Freshman Ariana Baldwin (Far Rockaway, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) set a pair of new personal records, trimming a second of her previous best mark in the 400 meter dash while also taking a half second of her old personal record in the 200 meter dash.  She finished 11th in the 400 with a time of 1:06.02 and was 18th in the 200, crossing the line in 28.64 seconds.   

Freshman Lea Credido (Denville, N.J./Mountain Lakes) also set a new personal record in the 200 meter dash, clocking in at 28.91 to place 20th in the race.

Scranton heads to Susquehanna University next Saturday to compete in the Landmark Conference Indoor Championships starting at 9:30 a.m. in Selinsgrove, Pa.
