Box Score 2 SCRANTON - On an afternoon where Jamie Spangler became The University of Scranton volleyball team's all-time winningest coach, the Royals extended their winning streak to 11 games with a pair of 3-0 sweeps over Landmark Conference foes Catholic and Goucher on Saturday in the John Long Center.
With the victories, Scranton is now 17-2 overall and open Landmark play for the year with a 2-0 mark.

In the opening game of the day, the Royals coasted to a three-set win, which was the 167th of Spangler's career as head coach to put him on top in the history of the program. The win put Spangler past Kristin Maile (1995-2001), who finished her career with 166 career victories.
Overall in the convincing win for the Royals, sophomore Stephanie Margolies (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) once again led the Scranton attack, finishing with 11 kills. Senior Eryn Boken (South Pasadena, Calif./Westridge School For Girls) finished with 10 kills, while on defense, senior Molly Dunfee (King of Prussia, Pa./Villa Maria Academy) and freshman Maddie Orth (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) had 10 digs, apiece.
Setting up the attack all match was junior Caileigh Cox (Randolph, N.J./Randolph), who finished with 32 assists, a game-high. Rounding out the top performances in the Catholic win was senior Trinity Manning (Point Lookout, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial), who finished with six kills and had five blocks up front (one solo).

In the night cap against Goucher, it was more of the same for the Royals, as Scranton coasted to their 11th straight victory overall and moved to 2-0 in the Landmark with their eighth 3-0 victory of the year and third such win in their last five games overall.
Overall in the Goucher victory, Boken led the offense with nine kills, while junior Carah Vitkus (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac) finished with six kills. JuniorEmma Profitlich (East Rockaway, N.Y./Sacred Heart Academy) led the defense with eight digs, while Cox ended the night with 26 assists, marking the 15th time on the year she had over 20 assists in a Scranton match.
The University of Scranton volleyball team returns to action on Wednesday, taking on Drew in Landmark action on the road. First serve is set for 7 PM.
