With the split, the Royals moved to 6-2 on the year.

Following their third three-set sweep of the year, the Royals and Fords put on a classic in the final match of the weekend for Scranton.

A back and forth affair from the start, Scranton came back after falling in the first set (25-21), taking the second set, 25-19 and the third set, 25-20, to go up, 2-1, in the match.

But, Haverford came back in the fourth set to take a 25-17 win to force a decisive fifth set. There, Scranton came back from a 12-8 deficit to score five straight points and go up, 13-12, in the final set.

After a Haverford point that tied it back up, the Royals scored to go up 14-13 and put themselves at match point and with serve. But, the Fords came back, tying it up at 14, and proceeded to do so two more times when Scranton went on match point with 15-14 and 16-15 leads.

It was there that Haverford took over, scoring the final three points of the contest to take a classic fifth set, 18-16, and give the Royals a tough defeat.

Overall in the Haverford match, three Scranton players went into double-figures in kills - junior Carah Vitkus (Mahopac, N.Y./Mahopac), sophomore Stephanie Margolies (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) and senior Eryn Boken (South Pasadena, Calif./Westridge School for Girls). Vitkus finished with a team-high 16 kills, while Margolies finished with 15 kills and 16 digs. Boken, meanwhile, had 10 kills and four blocks up front.
