ALLENTOWN, Pa. –The University of Scranton women's track and field team posted a trio of top three finishes on Saturday at the Muhlenberg College Invite.
The Royals finished fifth in the team standings with 66.5 points as Dickinson captured the team title with 142.5 points.
Check out some of the Royals' highlights from Saturday's meet below.
- Senior Jessica Hoffmann (Millington, N.J./Watchung Hills) took second in the 1,500 meters with a new program record time of 4:51.74, while freshman Samantha Hoffmann (Millington, N.J./Watchung Hills) finished third in the 800 meters in a personal-best time of 2:24.87.
- Junior Meghan Winter (Peckville, Pa./Valley View) also added a third place finish of her own in the triple jump as she tied for third with a mark of 9.97m. Sophomore Jessica Tsu (Valley Stream, N.Y./Valley Stream North) finished fifth in the event at 9.86m.
- A trio of Royals posted fourth place finishes on the day as junior Noelle Gonzalez (Harrington Park, N.J./Northern Valley-Old Tappan) took fourth in the 100 meters in 13.16 seconds, classmate Ashley Benham (Portland, Conn./Portland) finished the 400 meter hurdles in 1:13.01 and senior Ally Maniscalco (Deer Park, N.Y./Deer Park) placed fourth in the pole vault with a new outdoor program best mark of 3.05m.
- The Royals' 4x400 relay team of Gonzalez, senior Emma Connolly (Danbury, Conn./Immaculate), junior Abigail Sheehan (Wyckoff, N.J./Academy of the Holy Angels) and sophomore Chelsea Long (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) also finished fourth with a new program record time of 4:21.42.
The University of Scranton women's track and field team is back in action on Saturday, April 9 at the Messiah Invitational.
