Scranton, Pa - The University of Scranton men's swimming team dominated Misericordia on Friday night in a 189-73 win at the Byron Center.
With the win, the Royals improve to a perfect 6-0 on the season.
- The meet got underway with the 200 medley relay where the Scranton 'A' team finished first with a time of 1:38.26.
- Sophomore Will Tagliareni (Hackettstown, N.J. / Hackettstown) won the 1000 free with a swim of 10:32.22.
- In the 200 free, freshman Sam Peters (West Hartford, Conn. / Northwest Catholic) placed first with a time of 1:47.33.
- Sophomore Mike Finley (New Milford, N.J. / Don Bosco Prep) picked up his first win of the night in the 100 back as he booked a 55.49.
- The 100 breaststroke saw freshman Alex Crumpton (Cherry Hill, N.J. / Camden Catholic) take first as he swam a 1:03.08.Â
- Senior Scott Majka (Marysville, Pa. /Â Trinity) showed off his speed in the 50 free with a swim of 22.67 to take first.
- Majka then followed up in the next event with a win in the 100 free at 49.36.
- Finley picked up his second win of the day in the 200 back with a time of 2:02.67.
- Sophomore Jimmy O'Malley (Maple Glen, Pa. / LaSalle College) swam his way to victory in the 500 free at 4:59.67.
- In the 100 fly, sophomore Matt Sherry (Glenside, Pa. /Â La Salle College) notched first with a swim of 53.65.Â
- Finley claimed his third win of the meet in the 200 IM with a time of 2:04.39.
- Scranton closed out the night with a victory in the 200 free relay as the 'A' team swam a time of 1:30.21.
The men's swimming & diving team returns to action next Saturday for a road meet at Hartwick starting at 1:00 PM.
